All the days of the oppressed are
wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast - Proverbs 15:15.
God wants us to have a cheerful heart. A
cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones -
Proverbs 17:22. Let us gain a cheerful heart as it is good medicine. A merry
heart makes a cheerful countenance - Proverbs 15:13. Anxiety weighs down the
heart, but a kind word cheers it up - Proverbs 12:25. As God is in control, we
can be cheerful in all circumstances.
Instead of complaining about the present
situations, let us be joyful and give thanks to God. Do all things without complaining
and disputing - Philippians 2:14. Be joyful always, pray continually, give
thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus - 1
Thessalonians 5:16-18. Singing praises to God brings cheer to our heart. Speaking
to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making
melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God
the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:19-20).
Let joy of the Lord be our strength.
There will be tribulations in this world. But let us be of good cheer and be
filled with peace as God had overcome the world. These things I have spoken to
you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but
be of good cheer, I have overcome the world - John 16:33.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Give us a cheerful
heart in all circumstances. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
