Neither give place to the devil - Ephesians
4:27.
The devil is always seeking a way to
enter into our lives. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and
to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more
abundantly - John 10:10. We should be always vigilant as devil will start to
control our life once we give him a foothold. Be sober, be vigilant; because your
adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour
(I Peter 5:8).
We give place to devil by allowing anger,
bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness in our life. Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
nor give place to the devil - Ephesians 4:26,27. Looking carefully lest anyone
fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause
trouble, and by this many become defiled - Hebrews 12:15. Lying opens the door
for devil to work in our life as devil himself is a liar.
Let us examine ourselves and submit to God.
When we resist the devil, he will flee from us. Therefore submit to God. Resist
the devil and he will flee from you - James 4:7. Let us never give devil an
opportunity to enter our life. Use the sword of the spirit which is the word of
God to defeat devil like Jesus did when he was tempted by devil (Mathew 4:
1-11). Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You -
Psalm 119:11.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We submit
ourselves to You. Help us to resist the devil so that he will flee from us. In
Jesus name we pray. Amen.
