Gilgal

Then the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day - Joshua 5:9.

Gilgal is the place where Israel encamped after crossing the Jordan. Gilgal means "Rolled away". It is the place where God rolled away the reproach of Egypt from Israelites and allowed them to step into Canaan. It signifies the removal of Israel’s former disgrace of slavery, humiliations and past failures. They were no longer slaves now but possessors of the promised land.
Gilgal is the place where a new beginning started in the life of Israelites. It is the place where Israelites who were born in the wilderness were circumcised and consecrated (Joshua 5:2-9). It is the place where they kept pass over and remembered God (Joshua 5:10-11). It is the place where people began to eat the produce of the land of Canaan and manna was ceased (Joshua 5:12).
God wants us to come back to Gilgal where He will roll away all our humiliations, guiltiness, disgraces, disappointments, mistakes and past failures. Let us surrender ourselves to God. He will make all things new in our life and restore us everything. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new - 2 Corinthians 5:17. May God roll away all our reproaches and let new beginnings happen in our life.

Dear Lord, We thank You for rolling away all our reproaches and making everything new. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
