The Spirit of Faith

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak - 2 Corinthians 4:13.

Joshua and Caleb who were among those who had spied out the land had the Spirit of faith. Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it” - Numbers 13:30. Others who went them did not have the Spirit of faith and they told that it is impossible to overcome them. But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we” - Numbers 13:31. Only Joshua and Caleb were able to inherit the promised land. Those who did not have the spirit of faith were not able to enter the promised land.

The Spirit of faith operates in us when we believe and speak. When we believe and speak to our situations with no doubt in heart, it will change. So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says - Mark 11:22,23.

Let us walk by faith and not by sight. For we walk by faith, not by sight - 2 Corinthians 5:7. When we have the Spirit of faith, we get victory even before it is visible. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world - our faith - 1 John 5:4. Let us be always filled with the Spirit of faith by believing and speaking. But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it - Numbers 14:24.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to believe and speak to our situations with the Spirit of faith. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
