For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts - Isaiah 55:8,9.
Jairus who was a ruler of
synagogue came to Jesus as his daughter is sick. He fell at His feet with humility
and begged Him to come and lay His hands on her so that she will live. And
behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he
saw Him, he fell at His feet and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little
daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she
may be healed, and she will live” - Mark 5:22,23.
When Jesus went with him to heal his
daughter, a woman who has a flow of blood for twelve years came behind Him in
the crowd and touched him. As Jesus was ministering to her, there was a delay in
getting to Jairus’s daughter. While He was still speaking, someone came from
the ruler of the synagogue’s house and said that his daughter is dead and not
to trouble the Teacher. As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He
said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe” - Mark 5:36.
Jairus might have thought that if Jesus did
not minister that woman, his daughter would not have died. But he believed Jesus
instead of his situation. Jesus restored his daughter back to life. Then He
took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated,
“Little girl, I say to you, arise.” Immediately the girl arose and walked, for
she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement - Mark
5:41, 42. Jesus worked a great miracle in the life of Jairus' daughter in His time even though
it seems to be delayed.
God does not always work when we think He should. There are times when we feel that our request got denied or forgotten by God. God always works in His perfect time and He is never late. Sometimes, we may not understand what God is doing in our lives. But, His ways and thoughts are always higher than our ways and thoughts. Let us not be afraid but only trust the miracle working God in all situations as all things are possible for Him. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass - Psalm 37:5.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to believe
You in all situations as You will always work in perfect time in our lives. In Jesus’
name we pray. Amen.
