Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. (Ephesians 4:26–27).
Anger gives a foothold for devil and so we should never let the sun go down while we were still angry. Our God is slow to anger. The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love - Psalm 103:8.Let us always be slow to anger. Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires - James 1:19,20.
We are mightier when we are slow to anger. He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city - Proverbs 16:32. When someone hurts us, let us ask God to heal our hurts instead of getting anger. A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense - Proverbs 19:11.
Let us never give place to devil by letting anger in our heart. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you - Ephesians 4:31, 32. May we forgive others and exhibit fruit of the Spirit in our life. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control - Galatians 5:22-23.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to not
give devil a foothold by letting anger in our life. In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
