"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" - Jeremiah 29:11.
Moses was born during a time of fear for
the Israelites as king Pharoah decreed that all Israelite children were
supposed to be thrown into the Nile River. So Pharaoh commanded all his people,
saying, “Every son who is born you shall cast into the river, and every
daughter you shall save alive” - Exodus 1:22. But God had a great plan for
Moses. He sent Pharoah’s daughter to the river at right time. Then the daughter
of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the
riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get
it - Exodus 2:5.
Pharoah’s daughter had compassion on Moses and
told his mother to nurse him for her. So she had compassion on him, and said,
“This is one of the Hebrews’ children - Exodus 2:6. Then Pharaoh’s daughter
said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you
your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him - Exodus 2:7-9. All things work good for those who love God.
God’s plans will never harm us but give us hope and a future. As God’s
plan is to save Israelites through Moses, He sent Pharaoh’s daughter to find
Moses in the river which led to Moses learning all the wisdom of Egyptians. And
Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words
and deeds - Acts 7:22. Moses also carried out God’s plan of bringing the people
of Israel out of Egypt.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for
Your plans that prospers us and gives us hope and a future. In Jesus; name we
pray. Amen.
