Repay Good For Evil

 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men - Romans 12:17.

Great reward

         We will be the sons of the Most High God and our reward will be great when we love our enemies and do good to them. But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil - Luke 6:35. As we do good to our enemies, we will heap coals on their head and God will reward us. If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the Lord will reward you - Proverbs 25:21,22.

Blessing

         We were called to return blessing for evil so that we may inherit a blessing. Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing - 1 Peter 3:9. Joseph overcame the evil done by his brothers with good and inherited the blessings of God. Let us also overcome evil with good. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good - Romans 12:21.

Deliverance

          Instead of repaying evil, let us wait for the Lord who delivers us and repays. Do not say, ‘I will repay evil;’ wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you - Proverbs 20:22. For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people” - Hebrews 10:30.

Be perfect

           Let us become perfect like our Father by blessing those who curse us, doing good to those who hate us and praying for those who persecute us.  But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect - Matthew 5:44,45.48.                                                   

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to repay good for evil. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
