Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, “Have I also here seen Him who sees me?” - Genesis 16:13.
Our God is El-Roi who sees us. The eyes of the
LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good - Proverbs 15:3.
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and those who fear Him. The eyes of
the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry - Psalm 34:15.
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in
his unfailing love - Psalm 33:18.
God saw the affliction of people of
Israelites and delivered them. And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the
oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of
their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver
them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a
good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the
Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites
and the Jebusites" - Exodus 3:7,8. And on that same day the Lord brought the
sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their hosts. - Exodus 12:51.
God saw Hagar and heard her affliction. And the Angel of the Lord said to her: “Behold, you are with child, And you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, Because the Lord has heard your affliction" - Psalm 34:15. She called the name of the Lord who sees her as the God who sees. God will see all our needs and will deliver us from all afflictions. He will never leave us nor forsake us. From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind, from His dwelling place He watches all who live on earth - Psalm 33:13.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You and praise You. You are El Roi, the Lord who sees us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
