Humility And Obedience of Jesus

And being found in appearance as a man, humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross - Philippians 2:8.

Jesus came down to the world as Savior and did the will of the Father with obedience and humility. Jesus said, “For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me” - John 6:38. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous - romans 5:19. Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered - Hebrews 5:8.

God exalted Jesus by giving Him the name above every name as He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father - Philippians 2:8-11.

Let the mind of Christ be in us and let us obey God with humility. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men - Philippians 2:5-7. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls - Matthew 11:29.

PRAYER: We thank You for coming to the world in the appearance of man by humbling Yourself and becoming obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
