For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me - John 6:38.
Jesus came to the world to do the will of Father and He said that doing the will of the Father is His food. Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work” - John 4:34. He prayed and submitted to the will of the Father in the garden of Gethsemane. He knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” - Luke 22:41.
We cannot enter the kingdom of heaven unless we do the will of God. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ - Matthew 7:21-23.
Let us submit ourselves to do the will of God that is good, pleasing and perfect. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will - Romans 12:2. Therefore, do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is - Ephesians 5:17. Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God - Psalm 143:10.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We surrender ourselves to do Your will. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
