Christ Suffered For Us In The Flesh

Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin - 1 Peter 4:1.

Christ who knew no sin and righteous was made to be sin for us and suffered for us. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him - 2 Corinthians 5:21.  For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit - 1 Peter 3:18. He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered - Hebrews 5:8.

Christ took our place and suffered as our sins were placed on Him to sanctify us with his own blood. But He was wounded for our  transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all - Isaiah 53:5, 6. Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate - Hebrews 13:12.

Christ suffered for us to leave us an example that we should follow His steps. For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously - 1 Peter 2:21-23.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank you for suffering for us and leaving us an example to follow Your steps. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
