Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.- Isaiah 43:19.
Peter who betrayed and rejected Jesus realized what he had done, got repented and turned to Jesus. Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord - Acts 3:19. God is faithful to forgive us and make us new as we confess our sins. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness - 1 John 1:9.
Peter did not choose to remember the former things or dwell in the past but instead turned to Jesus, preached about Him and did greater things for Him. All things became new in his life. When he preached, about three thousand people were baptized and added to the church - Acts 2:41. They brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them - Acts 5:14.
Our God who is able to make a way in the wilderness and path through the mighty waters in the sea will make a new way in our life as we turn to Him. Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters - Isaiah 43:16. Like Peter, let us choose to forget the former things and do not dwell in the past. The old things pass away and all things will become new in our life. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new - 2 Corinthians 5:17. Let us do great and mighty things for the glory of God!!
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for making a way in our wilderness and doing new things for us. Help us not to dwell in the past but to shine for your glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
