Live By Faith

The righteous shall live by faith - Romans 1:17.

Abraham

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going - Hebrews 11:8. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God - Hebrews 11:9, 10.

Sarah

By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude - innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore - Hebrews 11:11,12.

Noah

By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith - Hebrews 11:7.

Moses

By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command - Hebrews 11:23.

Abel

By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks - Hebrews 11:4.

Enoch

By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God - Hebrews 11:5.

Rahab

By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies - Hebrews 11:31.

Israelites

By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted to do the same, were drowned. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days - Hebrews 11:29, 30.

For we walk by faith, not by sight - 2 Corinthians 5:7.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us walk by faith and not by sight. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
