My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth - 1 John 3:18.
God wants us to love others in deed and in truth and not in word. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Our love must be sincere without hypocrisy. Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good - Romans 12:9.
Our love for others must be in deed and in truth by encouraging the disheartened, helping the weak, comforting and edifying others and by being hospitable to one another. Encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone - 1 Thessalonians 5:14. Therefore comfort each other and edify one another - 1 Thessalonians 5:11. Be hospitable to one another without grumbling - 1 Peter 4:9.
The love of God will not be in us if we do not love others in deed and truth. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? - 1 John 3:17. Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? - James 2:15,16. Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you - Luke 6:27.
Let us live a life worthy of the calling by loving others in deed and in truth and not in word. I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace - Ephesians 4:1-3. Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works - Hebrews 10:24.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
