Job's Perseverance & Faith

You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord - that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful - James 5:11.

Job's Perseverance

Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?. In all this Job did not sin with his lips - Job 2:10. As long as my breath is in me, And the breath of God in my nostrils, My lips will not speak wickedness, Nor my tongue utter deceit - Job 27:3,4. But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food - Job 23:10-12.

Job's Faith

Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him - Job 13:15a. For He performs what is appointed for me, And many such things are with Him - Job 23:14. I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You - Job 42:2. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted - Job 9:10.  For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth - Job 19:25.

Job's Perseverance & Faith

God blessed and restored to Job more than he had lost for his perseverance and faith. Let us also persevere and not give up during trials with complete trust in God like Job. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness - 1 Peter 2:5, 6. Be still, and know that I am God - Psalm 46:10. Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved - Psalm 62:1,2. In You, O LORD, I put my trust; Let me never be put to shame - Psalm 71:1.

We also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and                                             perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope - Romans 5:3-4.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to persevere and not give up during trials but trust You completely. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
