Flourish & Grow

 The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon - Psalm 92:12. 

Flourish like a palm tree       

           Palm trees flourish and bear fruit for a very long time.The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing - Psalm 92:12-15. Like how palm trees get better with age, let us also still bear fruit in old age, stay fresh and green. Let us also flourish and bear fruits. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law - Galatians 5:22,23. Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance - Mathew 3:8.

Grow like cedar in Lebanon

             Cedars are strong, stable and just as they are known for their deep roots, let us grow deep in faith and in the knowledge of or Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight - 2 Corinthians 5:7. Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - 2 Peter 3:18. The Lebanese cedars are famous for long branches, fragrant aromatic wood, durability and used for construction purposes. I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like the lily, and he will take root like the cedars of Lebanon. His shoots will sprout, and his beauty will be like the olive tree and his fragrance like the cedars of Lebanon - Hosea 14:5-7. 

Be righteous

              We flourish like a palm tree & grow like a cedar in Lebanon when we are righteous. The righteous will thrive like a green leaf - Proverbs 11:28. The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day - Proverbs 4:18. Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield - Psalm 5:12. Blessings are on the head of the righteous - Proverbs 10:6. The generation of righteous are blessed and his descendants will be mighty on earth. The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him - Proverbs 20:7. His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed - Psalm 112:2. In the path of righteousness is life - Proverbs 12:28. The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them - Hosea 14:9.

Joseph was righteous

            Joseph was righteous and so the Lord was with Him and He flourished like a palm tree and grew like a cedar in Lebanon. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God? - Genesis 39:9. The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man - Genesis 39:2. But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison - Genesis 39:21. The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper - Genesis 39: 22, 23. And, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt. Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt” - Genesis 41:41,44. 

The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life - Proverbs 10:11. 

The heart of the righteous studies how to answer - Proverbs 15:28. 

 

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us be righteous and grow flourish like a palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
