For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit - 1 Peter 3:18.
Jesus was punished that we might be forgiven. Surely
He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him
stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our
transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought
us peace was upon Him - Isaiah 53:4,5.
Jesus was wounded that we might be healed.
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The
chastisement for our peace was upon Him, By His stripes we are healed - Isaiah
53:5.
Jesus endured the cross and bore
our shame for us to share His glory. For the joy set before him he endured the
cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God -
Hebrews 12:2.
Jesus became the curse to redeem us from the
curse and enter into blessing. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by
becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on
a tree” Galatians 3:13.
Jesus tasted death for us to receive life. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone - Hebrews 2:9.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for all the sufferings You have endured for us to be forgiven, healed, saved and redeemed. In Jesus’ name we
pray. Amen.
