Marah Turns Sweet

So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet - Exodus 15:25.

The people of Israelites went to the wilderness where they found no water after being delivered from Pharaoh's army in the Red sea. Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah - Exodus 15:23. The people of Israelites grumbled against Moses as they could not drink the bitter water. And the people complained against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” - Exodus 15:24.

They forget all the past victories and miraculous deliverances done by God in Egypt. Instead of trusting God, they complained against Moses. The will of God for us is to give thanks in everything. in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you - 1 Thessalonians 5:18. When Moses cried out to the Lord during this situation, the Lord showed him a tree. As he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet.

God turned the bitter water of Marah into sweet water. Then the Israelites went to Elim where there were springs of water and palm trees. Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees; so they camped there by the waters - Exodus 15:27. God will show us what to do like how He showed Moses a tree when we call upon Him. Let us trust God as nothing is impossible with Him. He will transform all our Marah experiences into sweetness and lead us to Elim experiences of springs of water with palm trees.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for turning all our bitter experiences into sweet experiences. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
