Ash Wednesday

 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. For forty days and forty nights He fasted and became very hungry - Matthew 4:1, 2.

Lent

             Lent is the 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter. It is the time for repentance and spiritual growth. Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord - Acts 3:19. Return to Me, and I will return to you - Malachi 3:7. 

Repent

             Let us turn away from wicked ways and ask God to clean heart in us. Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting - Psalm 139:23,24. Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me - Psalm 51:10.

Grow Spiritually

              Lent season is the time for us to draw near to God in prayer and to grow more spiritually. Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - 2 Peter 3:18.“Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm - Joel 2:12,13.

                                               

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to repent and grow spiritually more in this season of lent. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
