Come, descendants of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the Lord - Isaiah 2:5.
Find what is acceptable to
the Lord to walk in the light
As believers and followers of
Christ, we cannot abide or walk in darkness. I have come as a light into the
world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness - John 12:46. Then
Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows
Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” - John 8:12. We have
to find what is acceptable to the Lord and walk in light as children of light. For you were once
darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the
fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out
what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful
works of darkness, but rather expose them - Ephesians 5:8-11.
Practice the truth to
walk in the light
We need to practice the truth to walk in the light
as God is in the light. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in
darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as
He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus
Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin - 1 John 1:6,7. But be doers of the
word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves - James 1:22.
Shine as lights
Let there be light in all the areas of our life and let us shine as lights holding fast the word of life. Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain - Philippians 2:14-16.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us find what is
acceptable to You and practice the truth to walk in the light and shine as
lights. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
