By Faith Abraham Obeyed God

Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws - Genesis 26:5.

Abraham obeyed God and went to a place where he was called to go without knowing where he was going by faith. The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going - Hebrews 11:8. So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran - Genesis 12:4.

Abraham obeyed God and laid down his son Isaac as a sacrifice before God by faith. Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood - Genesis 22:9. By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death -Hebrews 11:17-19.

God blessed and multiplied Abraham exceedingly as he obeyed Him faithfully by faith. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you - Genesis 12:1-3. I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly - Genesis 17:1,2.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to walk in complete obedience to Your will by faith. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
