Breakfast By The Sea

Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” - John 21:12.

Jesus showed Himself to His disciples

Jesus showed Himself to His disciples third time after He was raised from the dead. This is now the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead - John 21:14. He stood on the shore and the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus - John 21:4. Jesus asked them if they have any food and they answered no as they had been fishing all night and caught nothing.

Miraculous catch of fish

Jesus told the disciples to cast the net on the right side of the boat and their net was suddenly filled with an abundance of fish. And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish - John 21:6. Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken - John 21:11. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:19. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning - Psalm 30:5.

Jesus invited them for breakfast

Jesus who provided disciples the direction for fishing, invited them for the breakfast. He prepared and served them a breakfast of bread and fish. Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread - John 21:9. Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”- knowing that it was the Lord. Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish - John 21:12,13. He invites everyone of us to have fellowship with Him. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me - Revelation 3:20.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are our Provider. We thank You for Your love and care for us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
