Father, Into Your hands I Commit My Spirit

And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last - Luke 23:46.

The seventh and the last word of Jesus on the cross was about committing His spirit into the hands of Father. Jesus completely committed His spirit to the Father before His death on the cross. Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth - Psalm 31:5. I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father - John 16:28.

Jesus breathed His last after committing His spirit into the hands of the Father and during that time, the sun was darkened, the veil was torn into two from top to bottom, the earth quaked and the graves were opened. The Centurion who saw all these things, glorified God. So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!” - Luke 23:47.

Let us fulfill the mission of God by committing all our ways to Him. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass -  Psalm 37:5. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God - Hebrews 12:2.

PRAYER: Dear Lord. We thank You for giving Your life to save us. We commit our life into Your hands. Help us to fulfill the mission You have assigned for us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
