Do This In Remembrance of Me

 Do this in remembrance of me - Luke 22:19.

                  Jesus had the last Supper with His disciples, the night before His crucifixion. And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you" - Luke 22:19,20. The bread represents the body of Christ that was broken for us and the cup represents the blood shed by Jesus for us.

             We need to self-examine ourselves before we eat the bread and drink the cup. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep - 1 Corinthians 11:28-30.          

              Let us remember the body of christ that was broken for us and the blood that was shed for us with love and praise God for His great sacrifice for us. For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes - 1 Corinthians 11:26. For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread - 1 Corinthians 10:7. When we eat and drink, we take Christ in us, the hope of glory. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me - Galatians 2:20.

                                                      

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for Your body that is broken for us and Your blood that is shed for us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
