You Will Be A Blessing

You will be a blessing - Genesis 12:2.

Noah was a great blessing for his family as his whole family was saved in the flood because of him. The Lord then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation" - Genesis 7:1.

Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord as he was a righteous man and walked faithfully with God

Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God - Genesis 6:8, 9.

Noah's obedience

So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. Noah did everything just as God commanded him - Genesis 6:13, 14, 22.

 Noah's Faith

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith - Hebrews 11:7.

Noah 's family was saved in the flood

Then the LORD said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation" - Genesis 7:1. On the very same day Noah and Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark- Genesis 7:13. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive - Genesis 7:23.

Preacher of righteousness

If he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others - 2 Peter 2:5. Even if these three men - Noah, Daniel and Job - were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord - Ezekiel 14:14.

God blessed Noah and his sons

So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth" - Genesis 9:1. These are the clans of Noah’s sons, according to their lines of descent, within their nations. From these the nations spread out over the earth after the flood - Genesis 10:32.

Dear Lord, We thank you for your loving care for our family. Help us to be a great blessing for our whole family like Noah. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
