In quietness and confidence shall be your strength - Isaiah 30:15.
Jesus did not open His mouth when He was oppressed and afflicted. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth - Isaiah 53:7.
Jesus committed no sin and no deceit was found in His mouth and did not revile in return when He was reviled. For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously - 1 Peter 2:21-23.
Let us follow the steps of christ who left us an example to be quiet and not to open the mouth when oppressed and afflicted. Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips - Psalm 141:3. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes - Psalm 37:7. He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction - Proverbs 13:3.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Set a guard over our mouth and keep watch over the door of our lips. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
