And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted - Mathew 23:12.
Jesus was exalted high as He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father - Philippians 2:8-11.
God crowns the humble with victory. For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory - Psalm 149:4. He gives grace to the humble and lifts up all who are humble. God gives grace to the humble - James 4:6. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up - James 4:10. Humility comes before honor - Proverbs 18:12. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble - 1 Peter 5:5.
Let us become humble like Jesus and be exalted high. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves - Philippians 2:3. These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word - Isaiah 66:2. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? - Micah 6:8.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to walk in humility like You. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
