And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross - Philippians 2:8.
To save us
For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people - Hebrews 2:17.
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world – 1 John 4:14.
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost - Luke 19:10.
To break the power of devil
Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death - Hebrews 2:14,15.
The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work -1 John 3:8.
To help us & provide a way of escape when tempted
Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted - Hebrews 2:18.
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it - 1 Corinthians 10:13.
To give us light
I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness - John 12:46.
To reveal God’s glory
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth - John 1:14.4.
To live through Him
In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him - 1 John 4:9.
To receive the adoption as sons
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons - Galatians 4:4,5.
To do the will of the Father
For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me - John 6:38.
To serve and to give His life as a ransom for many
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many - Mark 10:45.
To call sinners to repentance
For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance - Mathew 9:13.
Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” - Luke 5:31,32.
To give us an abundant life
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly - John 10:10.
To give us an everlasting life
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life - John 3:16.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for coming to the world as fully human to save us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
