Never Be Lazy But Work Hard And Serve The Lord Enthusiastically

Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically  - Romans 12:11.

Never be lazy

Poverty

Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth - Proverbs 10:4. The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich - Proverbs 13:4. I went by the field of the lazy man, And by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding; And there it was, all overgrown with thorns; Its surface was covered with nettles; Its stone wall was broken down.  When I saw it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction: A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest; So shall your poverty come like a prowler, And your need like an armed man - Proverbs 24:30-34. Because of laziness the building decays, And through idleness of hands the house leaks - Ecclesiastes 10:18.

Learn from ant

Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler,  Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest - Proverbs 6:6-8. Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer - Proverbs 20:25.

Rise from sleep

Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare - Proverbs 20:13. How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep— So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man - Proverbs 6:9-11. The lazy man says, “There is a lion in the road! A fierce lion is in the streets!” As a door turns on its hinges, So does the lazy man on his bed. The lazy man buries his hand in the bowl; It wearies him to bring it back to his mouth. The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes Than seven men who can answer sensibly - Proverbs 26:13-16. Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless go hungry - Proverbs 19:15.

                                                                              Work hard

Work with your own hands

For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living - 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12. But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing - 1 Thessalonians 4:10-12.

Do the best

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might - Ecclesiastes 9:10. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men - Colossians 3:23. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established - Proverbs 16:3. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him - Colossians 3:17. Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor - Proverbs 12:24.

                                                                                   Serve the Lord enthusiastically

Serve the Lord enthusiastically

Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing - Psalm 100:3. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain - 1 Corinthians 15:58.

We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised - Hebrews 6:12.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us not be lazy but work hard and do our best in all we do and serve You  enthusiastically. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
