Christ Died For Us

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us - Romans 5:8.

God loves us so much that He gave His life for us. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life - John 3:16. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many - Mark 10:45. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins - 1 John 4:10. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross - Philippians 2:8.

Amazing things happened on the day Christ died. There was darkness all over the earth. Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour - Luke 23:44. And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many - Matthew 27:50-53.

The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sins and we are healed by His stripes. The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin - 1 John 1:7. By whose stripes you were healed - 1 Peter 2:24. We are brought near to God by His blood. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ - Ephesians 2:13. Christ lives in us as we are crucified with Him who loves us and gave Himself for us. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me - Galatians 2:20.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for Your amazing love towards us. We thank You for Your work of salvation on the cross and for Your precious blood that is shed for us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
