The Word Became Flesh And Dwelt Among Us

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth - John 1:14.

God who was the Word became flesh to dwell among us. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God -  John 1:1. God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons - Philippians 4:4. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. For You have magnified Your word above all Your name - Psalm 138:2.

The word became flesh and dwelt among us with humility in the appearance of man to redeem us. Being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross - Philippians 2:6-8.

The word became flesh for us to to die for sins and live for righteousness and to serve the living God. “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” - 1 Peter 2:24. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! - Hebrews 9:14.

Let us thank God who became flesh to dwell among us. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God - Revelation 21:3. God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory - 1 Timothy 3:16.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for becoming flesh and dwelling among us for us to live through You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
