Walk Worthy Of Your Calling

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with long suffering, bearing with one another in love- Ephesians 4:1,2.

              God wants us to walk a life that is worthy of our calling. Paul says that we should be completely humble, gentle, patient and bear with one another in love to live a life worthy of the calling of God. Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long suffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another - Colossians 3:12,13. Our God who called us is faithful and He will equip us and prepare us to live a life worth of our calling. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it -1 Thessalonians 5:24.

                  Like Christ, we are called to be completely humble in heart and to be gentle with everyone. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls - Mathew 11:29. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven - Mathew 18:4. To slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone – Titus 3:2. We are called to exhibit patience in all our situations. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer - Romans 12:12.

             We should show humility, gentleness, patience and bear with one another’s weaknesses in love. The apostle Paul told the Corinthians that love bears all things and endures all things - 1 Corinthians 13:7. We should live a life worthy of calling by living in unity with others. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing - 1 Peter 3:9. With these characteristics in our life, let us walk worthy of the calling.

                                                        

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to live a life worthy of the calling which we have received. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Remember Past Victories

I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old - Psalm 77:11.

             We can proclaim the future victories by pronouncing the past victories given by the Lord. Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth - Psalm 105:5. David remembered his past victories and it gave him more confidence that he would defeat Goliath easily. He knew that the God who was with him when he faced the lion and the bear would give him victory when he faced Goliath.

             David pronounced his past victories by telling to Saul about how the Lord gave him victory over bear and lion. Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God. Moreover, David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” - 1 Samuel 17:36,37.

               David defeated Goliath with the help of the Lord. We can defeat any kind of giant in our life as greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world. For the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you - Deuteronomy 20:4. God wants us to remember the past victories He had given us as it would increase our faith. Let us give glory to God for all our blessings and past victories. Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works- Psalm 105:2.

                                                 

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the Lord who gives us the victory. We thank You for all the past victories You have given us in our life. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Trust And Obey

Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us – Psalm 62:8.

               When God told Abraham to leave his country and people, he immediately obeyed God having trust in Him. ‘Leave your country and your people,’ God said, ‘and go to the land I will show you.’ So he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Harran - Acts 7:2,3. God blessed Abraham and made him as a blessing. Leave your country, your people, and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you. I will make your name great and you will be a blessing - Genesis 12:1,2.

            Noah obeyed God and prepared an ark as God commanded him for saving his household because of his faith in God. By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith - Hebrews 11:7. Let us rely on the love of God with full trust. And so, we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them - 1 John 4:16.

             When we trust God and surrender all our ways to Him, He will make our crooked paths straight. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight - Proverbs 3:5,6. Let us trust that God will be with us and guide all our steps throughout our life. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze - Isaiah 43:2.

When we walk with the Lord

in the light of His word,

what a glory He sheds on our way!

While we do His good will,

He abides with us still,

and with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there's no other way

to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to trust and obey You at all times. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Pray For Others

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people - Ephesians 6:18.

              God restored Job with a double portion when he prayed for his friends. And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before - Job 42:10. James 5:16 says, “Pray for one another that you may be healed.” We will be healed when we pray for one another. Therefore, let us build the habit of praying for others into our life instead of focusing only on ourselves.

             We should pray for the salvation of others as God desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Paul prayed for the salvation of the lost. Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved - Romans 10:1. In order to lead a peaceable life, let us pray for all those who are in authority. Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence – 1 Timothy 2:1.

            Jesus Christ also prayed for others. He even prayed for the ones that crucified Him -Luke 23:34. Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you - Luke 6:28. Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you - Mathew 5:44. Paul tells us to “carry one another’s burdens” because this is the fulfillment of the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). Let us pray for others and see the God’s move in their lives and our life.

Long Delays Are For Good

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time - 1 Peter 5:6.

             Joseph was sold by his own brothers into slavery at 17 years of age. Though he faithfully served Potiphar, he was sent to prison due to a false accusation by Potiphar’s wife. Joseph spent many years in prison. After 13 years, he became the second most powerful man of Egypt. And, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”- Genesis 41:41. God blessed Joseph and made him as a blessing to his own family and others.

                 Sometimes long delays in our life may seem unjust to us. But God is at work and He is preparing us during that time to fulfill His plan. We cannot understand God’s thoughts and ways as they are always higher than our ways and thoughts. Joseph waited patiently many years for God to work in his life instead of grumbling against God.  But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive - Genesis 50 :20.  

                 God does everything beautiful and perfect in His time. When we love God, all things in our life happen for good. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose - Romans 8:28. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory that is to be revealed to us - Romans 8:18. God is working all things in our life for our good. Like Joseph, let us also always remain faithful to God and trust Him during the waiting time.

                                                                 

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to humble ourselves and wait patiently for Your good plan to work in our life in Your time. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Walk In Holiness

For it is God’s will that you should be holy -  1 Thessalonians 4:3.

                 Our God who called us is holy and so we should also be holy in all we do. But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” - 1 Peter 1:15,16. God had chosen us before the foundation of the Lord that we should be holy and blameless before Him in love. Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love - Ephesians 1:4. For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness - 1 Thessalonians 4:7. We are set apart for God's purpose as chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and His own special people.

          As God’s chosen and holy people, we should cloth ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Also, we should forgive and love each other. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity - Colossians 3: 12-14.

                Without walking in holiness, it is impossible to see the Lord. Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord - Hebrews 12:14. God's will for us is to be holy. So, let us put off all our old self and put on the new self to walk in holiness like God. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness - Ephesians 4:22-27.

                                                 

PRAYER: DEAR Lord, Help us to walk in holiness just as You are holy. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Delight Yourself In The Lord

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart - Psalm 37:4.

                God wants us to delight ourselves in Him. He is the one who grants all the desires of our heart. The word of God gives us delight in our heart. Let Your tender mercies come to me, that I may live; For Your law is my delight - Psalm 119:77. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word - Psalm 119:16. And I will delight myself in Your commandments, which I love - Psalm 119:47.

            Let us delight ourselves in the Lord whatever the situations may be. Hannah prayed to the Lord with a deep anguish to bless her with a son. After she poured out her soul to God, she was no longer sad. The Lord gave the desires of her heart by blessing her with a son. So, it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.” - 1 Samuel 1:20.

              When we delight in the Lord, God will plant His desires in our heart. I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart - Psalm 40:8. Let us commit all our ways to God and trust completely in Him. God will surely grant all the desires of our heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass - Psalm 37:5.
