And pray in the Spirit on all
occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert
and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people - Ephesians 6:18.
God restored Job with a double
portion when he prayed for his friends. And the Lord restored Job’s losses when
he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had
before - Job 42:10. James 5:16 says, “Pray for one another that you may be
healed.” We will be healed when we pray for one another. Therefore, let us build the habit of praying for others into
our life instead of focusing only on ourselves.
We should pray for the salvation
of others as God desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
Paul prayed for the salvation of the lost. Brethren, my heart’s desire and
prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved - Romans 10:1. In order to
lead a peaceable life, let us pray for all those who are in authority. Therefore, I
exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of
thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may
lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence – 1 Timothy 2:1.
Jesus Christ also prayed for others. He even
prayed for the ones that crucified Him -Luke 23:34. Bless those who curse you,
pray for those who mistreat you - Luke 6:28. Love your enemies and pray for
those who persecute you - Mathew 5:44. Paul tells us to “carry one another’s
burdens” because this is the fulfillment of the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). Let us pray for others and see the God’s move
in their lives and our life.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to pray
for others. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
