Pleasing God

Find out what pleases the Lord - Ephesians 5:10.

God wants us to please Him with our lives. Even though Enoch lived in an increasingly wicked world, he walked with God and pleased God. By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.” For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God – Hebrews 11:5. We are not servants of God if we are striving to please people. If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ - Galatians 1:10.
Instead of pleasing people, let us please God who tests our hearts. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts - 1 Thessalonians 2:4. Let us please God by our faith. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him - Hebrews 11:6. God is pleased when we fear Him. The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy - Psalm 147:11.
God makes our enemies to be at peace with us when our ways please Him. When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him -Proverbs 16:7. Let us also please God with our words and thoughts. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer - Psalm 19:14. So we make it our goal to please Him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it - 2 Corinthians 5:9.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to live and conduct ourselves in a way that pleases You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
