Therefore humble yourselves under the
mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time - 1 Peter 5:6.
Joseph was sold by his own brothers
into slavery at 17 years of age. Though he faithfully served Potiphar, he was
sent to prison due to a false accusation by Potiphar’s wife. Joseph spent many
years in prison. After 13 years, he became the second most powerful man of
Egypt. And, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of
Egypt.”- Genesis 41:41. God blessed Joseph and made him as a blessing to his own family and others.
Sometimes long delays
in our life may seem unjust to us. But God is at work and He is preparing us during
that time to fulfill His plan. We cannot understand God’s thoughts and ways as
they are always higher than our ways and thoughts. Joseph waited patiently many years for
God to work in his life instead of grumbling against God. But as for you, you meant evil against me; but
God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save
many people alive - Genesis 50 :20.
God
does everything beautiful and perfect in His time. When we love God, all things in our life
happen for good. And we know that all things work together for good to those
who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose - Romans 8:28.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be
compared to the glory that is to be revealed to us - Romans 8:18. God is working all things in our life for our good. Like Joseph, let us also always remain faithful to God and trust Him during the waiting time.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to humble
ourselves and wait patiently for Your good plan to work in our life in Your
time. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
