We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good
works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10.
We
are created by God for a purpose. We are made to serve God by doing good works. God
has given each of us many gifts and abilities. Every one of us shall be a
blessing for others. Whenever we serve people, we fulfill God’s plan in our
life. Let us love others not only by word but also by our deeds.
In
Acts 9:36, we see that Tabitha was always doing good and helping the poor. She stitched clothes and gave it to the poor and
needy people. She gave her time, talent and effort to help others. She is a
woman full of good works. Suddenly she became ill and died. When Peter prayed,
God raised her back to life. Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due
season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9.
Let us find
opportunities to do good work to people in need. 1 Timothy 6:18,19 says that “Let
them do good that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,
storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may
lay hold on eternal life.” May the Lord help us to be rich in good works.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank you for creating
us to do good works. Let our light shine before all men that they see our good
works and glorify You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
