And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto
God: and the prisoners heard them. Acts 16:25.
In
Acts 16:16-24, we see that Paul and Silas were arrested and put in prison. At
midnight, Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises to God and the prisoners heard
them. Instead of worrying about the situation, they started praising God. Rejoice
in the Lord always - Philippians 4:4.
Their
praises released God’s power. Suddenly there was an earthquake and the prison
doors were opened. Their chains were loosened. And it shall come to pass, that
whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered - Joel 2:32. Also, the jailer and his family got saved. Paul
and Silas focused on the purposes of God instead of their problem.
When we offer praises to God, we
will be set free from all bondages. Let us praise God to open the doors of prisons
in our life. Praise is a spiritual weapon that can be used to break the strongholds
in our life. At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You, because of Your
righteous judgments - Psalm 119:62.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are worthy of all
praises. Help us to praise You in all our circumstances. In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
