One of them, when he saw he was
healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus'
feet and thanked him and he was a Samaritan. Luke 17:15-16.
In Luke
17:11-17, we see that Jesus miraculously healed ten lepers. When lepers saw
Jesus, they cried to Jesus to have mercy on them. Jesus told them to show
themselves to priests. They obeyed Jesus and as they went, they were cleansed.
Only one of ten men Jesus healed, came back
and thanked Him. He praised God with a loud voice. With
humility, he fell down at his feet and gave him thanks. Jesus said to him,” Go your
way, your faith had made you well.” The leper was healed both in his body and soul. The other nine returned back without giving thanks to Jesus.
We may have failed to thank God like
the nine lepers for the blessings we have received from God. Let us remember to return to God with a grateful heart like the leper
who thanked God. Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless
His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who
forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases - Psalm 103:1-3.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for Your
blessings and goodness in our life. Give
us a grateful heart to return thanks to You without fail for what You have done for us. In
Jesus name we pray. Amen.
