Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
David wrote Psalm 63 when he was in the wilderness
of Judah. Though he was fleeing for life from his own son, he praised God joyfully.
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in
your name I will lift up my hands - Psalm 63:3,4.
Paul praised God in prison. About midnight
Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners
were listening to them. When Paul was imprisoned in Rome, he wrote, “Sing and
make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father
for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” - Ephesians 5:19-20.
Daniel
kneeled upon his knees three times a day and prayed constantly. Now when Daniel
knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his
windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day,
and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
Daniel 6:10.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to fulfill Your will by giving
thanks in all circumstances. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
