The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name” - Psalm 91:14.
Daniel
continued to pray to God three times a day even though a decree was signed by
the king that no one can pray to any God except himself. And in his upper room, with his windows open
toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed
and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days - Daniel 6:10.
He chose to obey God rather than men. We ought to obey God rather than men -
Acts 5:29.
God honored Daniel for his
faithfulness to Him. While Daniel was in the den of lions, God sent His angel
to shut the lion’s mouths so that they would not hurt him. My God sent his
angel to shut the lion’s mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been
found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty - Daniel 6:22. Daniel loved God more than his job and so God rescued him.
God rescues all those love Him and protects all those trust Him. The same lions that did not cause any injury to Daniel, killed all the
men who accused Daniel immediately when they were cast into the den. They
brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of
lions - them, their children, and their wives; and the lions overpowered them,
and broke all their bones in pieces before they ever came to the bottom of the
den - Daniel 6:24. The Lord preserves all who love Him, But all the wicked He
will destroy - Psalm 145:20.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to be
faithful to You always. Let us love You more than anything else in this world. In
Jesus name we pray. Amen.
