But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth” - Genesis 14:22.
El means
“God” and Elyon means “Most High”. Abraham and his men defeated the armies of the
five kings and returned with Lot and all the other people who were taken as captive.
When Abraham returned, he was greeted by Melchizedek king of Salem who was also a
priest of El Elyon, the God Most High. Melchizedek spoke a word of blessing
over Abraham from the Most High God, El Elyon who delivered the victory into Abraham’s
hands.
We belong to the Most High
God El Elyon, who is the possessor of heaven and earth. He will deliver us from
all our enemies. He is in control of our life. I will cry out to God Most High,
To God who performs all things for me - Psalm 57:2. He protects us and gives us
victory. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under
the shadow of the Almighty - Psalm 91:1.
Let us thank and praise our Most High God,
El Elyon. I will give thanks to the Lord
because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord
Most High - Psalm 7:17. For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King
over all the earth - Psalm 47:2. That they may know that You, whose name alone
is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth - Psalm 83:18.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are El Elyon, the Most High God. You are always with us to deliver us from our enemies and protect us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
