Because I live, you will live also - John 14:19.
Jesus is the firstfruits of those who have
fallen asleep and His resurrection promises that there is a great hope for all
those die in Him. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be
pitied more than all men. But Christ has
indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen
asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes
also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive
- 1 Corinthians 15:19-22.
Jesus has conquered death and so death
has lost its sting and the grave has lost its victory. "Where, O death,
is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" The sting of death is
sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the
victory through our Lord Jesus Christ - 1 Corinthians 15:55-57. He is the
resurrection and life who brings resurrection and life to those who believe
Him. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in
Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me
shall never die. - John 11:25, 26.
The same resurrection power that raised
Jesus from the dead dwells in us as His Spirit lives in us. And if the Spirit
of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ
from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit
who lives in you - Romans 8:11. For all those who believe in Him, death is
like falling asleep and waking up in eternity with Him. I am He who lives, and
was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of
Hades and of Death - Revelation 1:18.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for giving us the gift of eternal life. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
