Words of Rest

And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last - Luke 23:46.

The seventh and the last word of Jesus on the cross was “Father, Into Your hands I commit My spirit." Jesus committed His spirit into the hands of Father before His death on the cross. Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth - Psalm 31:5. The life of Jesus which is a perfect sacrifice for us is placed in the hands of God.

Jesus fulfilled the mission the Father assigned to Him and committed His spirit. I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father - John 16:28. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God - Hebrews 12:2.

Let us commit our life into the loving hand of God and serve Him faithfully. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday - Psalm 37:5,6. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? - Hebrews 9:14.

PRAYER: Dear Lord. We commit our life into Your hands. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
