Words of Victory

 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit - John 19:30.

            The sixth word of Jesus on the cross is "It is finished". Jesus came down to earth from heaven to save us and do the will of God. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many - Mark 10:45. I can of Myself do nothing. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me - John 6:38.

              Because of God’s finished work of salvation, we have a living hope both in this world and eternally. He had paid the price for our sins. Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! - John 1:29. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners - 1 Timothy 1:15. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins - 1 John 3:5.

              Jesus had finished the task victoriously the Father had sent Him to earth to accomplish. I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do - John 17:4. I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me - John 5:30. Let us also finish the purposes and will of God in our life. I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me - Psalm 57:2. The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me - Psalm 138:8.
