“Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!” - Luke 12: 13.
Jesus told His disciples to untie the donkey and bring it to
Him when entering the Jerusalem. Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you
will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it. And if
anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’
and immediately he will send it here - Mark 11:2,3. The disciples brought it to
Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it.
People spread palm branches, garments and shouted
Hosanna. Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and
others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that
went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of
David!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Hosanna in the highest heaven!" - Matthew 21:8-9. They welcomed him
as their victorious Savior, taking palm branches and shouting
"Hosanna!" - John 12:13.
Jesus rode into the Jerusalem victoriously and triumphantly as a conquered king. Let us praise the Lord God our Savior and proclaim our victorious king to the entire world. Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey - Zechariah 9:9.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, You
are the victorious king. We praise You and bless Your name. In Jesus’ name we
pray. Amen.
