So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” – Acts 9:6.
God spoke to Saul who persecuted the early Christians with a vision. As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” - Acts 9:3-5. As soon as Saul was met by the Lord, he asked Him what He wants him to do and started doing great things for Him. Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do - Acts 9:6.
Saul who was converted as Paul never stopped asking God what He wants Him to do from the start of the ministry till the end and got His guidance every time. Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them - Acts 16:6,7.
Let us also ask God what He want us to do and carry out the mission with His guidance. Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long - Psalm 25:4-5. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me - Galatians 2:20.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Make
us to know Your ways. Lead us, teach us and guide us. In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
