So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet - Exodus 15:25.
Marah
When Israelites came to Marah, they could not drink water as it was bitter. Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah - Exodus 15:23. The people of Israelites grumbled against Moses as they could not drink the bitter water. And the people complained against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” - Exodus 15:24.
Ask God and do what He tells to do
God showed Moses a tree as he cried out to Him. So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet - Exodus 15:25. The waters were made sweet when Moses did what God told him to do. Let us ask God to guide us and do what He tells to do in the midst of trouble.
Promise of healing
God who turned the bitter water into sweet at Marah, also gave the promise of healing there for those who follow Him. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them, and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” - Exodus 15:26.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for turning all the bitter situations into sweet in our life. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
