Prayer of Jonah

I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, And He answered me - Jonah 2:1, 2.

Jonah called God

Jonah cried out to the Lord from the belly of fish. Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly - Jonah 2:1. When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord; And my prayer went up to You, Into Your holy temple - Jonah 2:7. He let the Word of God from Psalm to fill his heart in his distress and called God. In my distress I cried to the Lord, And He heard me - Psalm 120:1.

Jonah praised and thanked God

Jonah offered praises to God and believed that salvation comes from the Lord. But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord’ - Jonah 2:9. Offer to God thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High. Praises brings deliverance. Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me - Psalm 50:14,15.

God answered the prayer of Jonah

God answered the prayer of Jonah and worked an amazing deliverance for him. The Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land - Jonah 2:10. God hears us always as we call upon Him in distress. In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry came before Him, even to His ears - Psalm 18:6.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to give You thanks in all circumstances and call upon You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
