Our Strong Tower

The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and are safe - Proverbs 18:10.

The name of the Lord is the name above every names.  To be safe from all the attacks which come against us, we can run into the name of the Lord. The name of the Lord is our divine protection. It is a refuge for us to run into it. God is our hiding place and during troubled times, He is our ever-present help. He is described in Psalm 46:1 as refuge, our strength, a very present help in time of trouble.
God is our shelter and strong tower and He will protect us from enemies. For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy - Psalm 61:3. I will love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies - Psalm 18:1-3.
When we are righteous which means when we do right things before God, we can run into the name of the Lord which is a strong tower and be safe. Let us be righteous and trust in the name of the Lord. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we trust in the name of the Lord our God - Psalm 20:7. Nothing can harm us as we are very safe in the name of the Lord, a strong tower.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, As Your name is a strong tower, let us always run into it and be safe. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

The Holy Spirit Intercedes For Us

It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us – Romans 8:34.

Everyone who has accepted Christ as Savior is sealed by the Holy Spirit. Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee - 2 Corinthians 1:21,22. The Holy spirit is our helper who teaches us all things. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you - John 14:26.
God graciously gives the Holy Spirit to help us by interceding for us in our weakness. Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God - Romans 8:26,27.
The Holy Spirit intercedes for us according to the will of God as we do not know how to pray or what to pray for. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” - Galatians 4:6. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus - 1 Timothy 2:5.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit to make intercessions for us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Jehovah-Rohi

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want - Psalm 23:1.

Jehovah-Rohi means “The Lord is my Shepherd”. As our shepherd, God guides us, provides us and protects us. He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young - Isaiah 40:11. He tenderly leads us and take a good care of us. He is our good shepherd. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep - John 10:11.
As the good shepherd, He seeks and saves the sheep that get lost. In the parable of lost sheep, Jesus asks “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? - Luke 15:4. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls – 1 Peter 2:25.
Let us listen to the voice of our shepherd and follow Him. John 10:27,28 says: “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand.” When we trust the Lord, He will be our good shepherd and we will be His precious sheep. Psalm 37:3 says, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness”.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are our good Shepherd. Help us to listen to Your voice and follow You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Open Our Eyes

Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight – Luke 24:31.

God wants us to see everything in His perspective. Mathew 6:22 says that “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.”  Paul prayed for Ephesians as “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints” (Ephesians 1:18). When we start seeing things out of eyes of faith, we can see that God is greater than all our problems.
Elisha’s servant was afraid when he saw a huge army and so Elisha prayed for him.  So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha - 2 Kings 6:16,17. Like Elisha’s servant we may also be blinded by our circumstances around us. Let us ask God to open our spiritual eyes as He did for Elisha’s servant.
Let us ask God to open our eyes to see the wonderful things in His word. Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law - Psalm 119:18. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes - Psalm 19:8. While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal - 2 Corinthians 4:18. May God open our spiritual eyes!!

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Open our eyes to see the wonderful things in Your word. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Choose To Rejoice In The Lord

Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice! - Philippians 4:4.

Even when everything in life goes wrong, let us choose to rejoice in God. Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls - Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation (Habakkuk 3:17-18). The Apostle Paul said, "I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation" (2 Corinthians 7:4).
God promises to give us His peace when we present all our requests to Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart - Psalm 37:4.
Let us find strength in God during difficult times and rejoice always. The joy of the LORD is your strength - Nehemiah 8:10. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills - Habakkuk 3:19. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it - Psalm 118:24.

PRAYER : Dear Lord, Help us make a choice to rejoice always in the midst of all our circumstances as You are our strength. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

True Worship

Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs - Psalm 100:2.

God is seeking true worshipers. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth - John 4:24. Worship is honoring God. These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men - Mathew 15:8,9. Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth - Psalm 96:9.
Let us worship God with reverence as He is a consuming fire. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire” - Hebrews 12:28,29. Worship the Lord your God, and His blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you - Exodus 23:25. All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name - Psalm 86:9.
Let us worship God with our lives. There I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind - Romans 12:1,2. We can worship God from songs in our heart. Ephesians 5:19 says, "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord."

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to always worship You in spirit and truth. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Helping The Poor

"Jesus answered, If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.'" Matthew 19:21.

There are many people in the world who are in need. When we help the poor, we lend to the Lord. He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward him for what he has done - Proverbs 19:17. If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered - Proverbs 21:13. He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who honors Him has mercy on the needy - Proverbs 14:31. He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses - Proverbs 28:2.
Tabitha was a disciple who helped the poor. She devoted her life in doing good deeds. In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which, when translated, is Dorcas), who was always doing good and helping the poor - Acts 9:36. Suddenly, she became ill and died. But God raised her from dead.  But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up - Acts 9:40. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in - Matthew 25:35.
God will deliver us in the time of trouble when we help the poor. Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed - Psalm 41:1-3. Let us give generously to the poor. A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor - Proverbs 22:9.

PRAYER:  Dear Lord, Help us to remember the poor people who are in need. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
